Tots (2-5 years)
This class is designed for 2 to 5 years olds who have little or no formal instruction or experience.  Tots will learn such basics as falling down, getting up, standing, marching in place, marching forward, small hops and turn arounds.

Pre-Alpha (5 years and up)

For skaters who need to learn the basics - falling down, getting up, marching forward, gliding and swizzles.  Some games may be incorporated into a smaller portion of the session.

Alpha (5 years and up)

Skills emphasized in this level are mastering the pre-alpha skills and focus on forward stroking and forward crossovers.  Note:  Forward crossovers are very difficult to learn and more than one or two sessions may be necessary to move to the next level.

Beta (5 years and up)

This class will focus on backward stroking and backward crossovers.  Forward crossovers will be used as warm-ups for the class.  In addition, right and lef t-stops will be taught to beta level skaters.  Note:  As with forward crossovers, backward skating is even more difficult to master.  Therefore, more sessions and additional practice is required.

Teen/Adults (15 years and up)

If you have ever wanted to learn how to skate or you'd like to perfect the skills you have developed over the years, we can help!  Instructors make every effort to structure the class to the benefit of all students through group and individual teaching.  Number of instructors and actual class format will depend on how many skaters enroll and the level of the class.

Beginning Hockey Skating (5 years and up)

Prerequisite - Pre-Alpha or able to pass Pre-Alpha.  The focus of the hockey classes is to teach the fundamentals of skating as they relate to hockey.  In this way hockey players can become stronger skaters while learning hockey moves.  Forward crossovers and hockey stops will be taught.
